Summer Camp at WCDS
The summer program at WCDS is open to children ages two and a half through seven years old and will be held at the Derham Building Campus located at 365 Paoli Pike Malvern. Summer program begins June 13th and runs through August 19th.
The Derham building opens at 8:00 am and closes at 5:30 pm. Activities begin at 8:30 with opening exercises and study unit themes each week. Campers will enjoy gardening in our "magical children's garden" anytime throughout the day, along with many other organized games and activities. In the afternoons, campers may participate in sports, swimming, Japanese studies, yoga and thematic arts and crafts. Our WCDS Teachers and Staff will ensure that your child has a fun-filled summer making lifelong memories with friends. Join us for an enjoyable and rewarding program with wholesome fun activities to nurture your child.

2011 Summer Program
| June 13 | Puppets Around the World - Children will enjoy puppet making while developing skits, costumes and songs for their puppets. |
| June 20 | Farm & Garden - Prepare soil, plant seedlings. Which insects are helpful to plants and why? 20 Baby farm animals visit us on 6/24 at 9:30 am. |
| June 27 | Fascinating Fossils - We will explore our own "dig" each day and discover fossils of plants and animals that lived millions of years ago. |
| July 5 & July 11 |
Native American Studies - We will have our own Teepee at camp to decorate & use throughout the summer. Children will learn about the peoples of the Lenape, Cherokee and Hopi tribes. Where did they live? What made them unique? |
| July 18 | All About Japan - Design a Zen garden, learn Japanese phrases, discover the beauty of Japanese art (Gyotaku), culture and writing. |
| July 25 | Pirate Week - Famous pirates and buried treasures! |
| August 1 | Pet Week - All campers are invited to bring in a pet to visit. We will learn about why humans love their pets. True animal stories from around the world. |
| August 8 | Science Explorers - Rockets, Volcanoes, Electricity & More! Each day we will engage in hands on Science experiments in small groups. |
| August 15 | Luau Week - Discover the beauty of our 50th state.Traditional foods, dance and stories await you! |
